Closing the garden gates

It is with some sadness that we give you the news that we have retired from the National Gardens Scheme and we will no longer be opening our garden to the general public.

We shall miss our visitors. On the whole garden visitors are really nice people and it has been our good fortune to host some wonderful groups. We have enjoyed showing off our garden to them and they have loved it as much as we do. Their praise of the garden has been overwhelming and they have been equally enthusiastic about our food and hospitality. We have been grateful for the cards and good wishes we have received which have made us very proud of our achievements.

During the nine years that we have been opening our garden we have raised about £100,000 for charity. The main beneficiary has been the National Gardens Scheme but we have also made significant donations to the County Air Ambulance, the Worcester Breast Cancer Campaign, St. Richard's Hospice, our local church and village hall and to others.

We have not done it all on our own. Friends and neighbours have given staunch support and our gardeners, especially Margaret and Jill have been a continuing source of strength.

Our plan is to have more time for summer holidays and for travel. If we are persuaded to open again to mark some occasion then you will know of it from this web site but otherwise we say good-bye and thank you.
